Juan C. Bianchi
President and Chief Executive Officer
Juan C. Bianchi is President and Chief Executive Officer of Ria Financial Services, the money transfer division of Euronet Worldwide, Inc. In addition to driving the global strategy, Juan is responsible for the worldwide financial and operational performance of Ria.
Juan has more than 16 years of experience in the money transfer industry. He began his career at Associated Foreign Exchange (AFEX) in Chile in 1992. In 1996, he moved to the U.S. to join AFEX USA operations. While at AFEX, first as Assistant General Manager and then as a General Manager, the company grew from processing 5,000 money transfer transactions per month to 300,000 per month. Subsequently, Juan became the Chief Operating Officer of AFEX-Ria in 2003 and was instrumental in integrating the two companies.
Juan studied business at the Universidad Andres Bello in Chile and completed the Executive Program in Management at UCLA's John E. Anderson School of Business.
Chief Financial Officer
Shawn Fielder is the Chief Financial Officer of Ria Financial Services, the money transfer division of Euronet Worldwide Inc. He is responsible for Ria’s global financial operations, including financial reporting, planning and analytics, treasury and FX trading functions.
Prior to joining Ria in 2012, Shawn spent ten years founding and leading Euronet’s tax department. As Vice President of Tax, based in Budapest, Hungary, Shawn was responsible for the global tax position of Euronet’s operations in nearly 40 countries, including international tax compliance, tax planning and corporate structuring, cash repatriation and worldwide tax provisioning and financial statement reporting. Prior to joining Euronet, Shawn held tax leadership positions at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte and served as Tax Director of Aerie Networks, a start-up broadband company.
Shawn lives with his wife and two children in Los Angeles, California.
Chief Information Officer
John Ashton is the Chief Information Officer of Ria Financial Services, the money transfer division of
Euronet Worldwide, Inc. John oversees systems worldwide, including development and infrastructure,
with teams in the United States, Europe and Asia.
John has a background in systems and finance, having designed and developed systems for money transfer,
corporate foreign exchange and other financial service industries. In 1996 he wrote the system for AFEX (corporate foreign exchange),
in 2001 the system for AFEX Money Express (AFEX division for money transfers) and then in 2002 the system for Ria.
Prior to working with AFEX and Ria, John was Director of Finance and Administration for GT Italia,
the CFO of Continental Savings, and Manager of Capital Markets Activities at the FHLB of San Francisco.
John received a BA in Economics from UCLA and lives in Los Angeles.
Managing Director, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (EMEASA)
Sebastian Plubins is the Managing Director of EMEA/SA for Ria Financial Services, the money transfer division of Euronet Worldwide, Inc. Sebastian oversees the sales, finances, and operations of Ria in Europe that now includes 16 countries. In addition, Sebastian manages two regional hubs in Dakar, Senegal, and Mumbai, India. Prior to his current role, Sebastian was Switzerland's Country Manager and Sales and Marketing Manager for Europe. He has been an integral part of the Ria organization since 2005.
Sebastian has more than 12 years of experience in the money transfer industry. He began his career in 2001 at Cambios Inter Services, a sub agent of Western Union in Chile and later he worked in London at Chequepoint, the foreign exchange powerhouse of Europe.
Sebastian has an MBA in International Business and Bachelor of Business Administration from Universidad Gabriela Mistral. He also completed a postgraduate study in Strategy & Innovation from the University of Oxford’s Said Business School.
Managing Director, Americas
Rosario Escarpita is the Managing Director for the Americas for Ria Financial Services, the money transfer division of Euronet Worldwide Inc. She is responsible for the development and expansion of Ria’s products, services and network in this hemisphere. Rosario leads a team of professionals in the areas of Business Development, Marketing, Sales, Products and Revenue Management for North, Central and South America including the Caribbean.
Rosario has more than 18 years of experience in the money transfer industry. She joined Ria in 2010 as Vice President Agent Sales for the United States where her results oriented attitude and work ethics was instrumental in growing the money transfer revenues and transactions in the United States by double digits. Prior to joining Ria, Rosario was the Vice President of National Sales for GroupEx Money Transfer where she worked for over 10 years.
Vice President and General Manager of Ria Digital
Darren Bruce is the Vice President and General Manager of Ria Digital for Ria Financial Services, the money transfer division of Euronet Worldwide, Inc. He has held this position since October 2012. Darren oversees Ria’s digital business including the ground-up development and expansion of Ria’s digital products and services across the globe.
Prior to joining Ria, Darren spent 4 years with the Western Union Company in Denver, Colorado, where he was the Head of Global Emerging Product Operations. In this capacity, he oversaw the strategic management and operational direction of the company’s new/emerging products consisting of e-commerce, account based money transfer, prepaid cards and mobile money transfer. Prior to Western Union, Darren lived in the Netherlands for 10 years where he worked for Canon, Cambridge Technology Partners, and Nike in various web/e-commerce capacities.
Darren has a Bachelor of Science Degree (Physics, Math, and Engineering) from Mount Allison University in Sackville, Canada. He also has a Diploma in Applied Information Technology from the Information Technology Institute in Halifax, Canada.
Vice President of Global Correspondent Business Development
Larry Fogelson is Vice President of Global Correspondent Business Development for Ria Financial Services, the money transfer division of Euronet Worldwide Inc. He has held this position since July 2007. Prior to that, starting in 2006, Larry served as Director of Euronet Payments and Remittance Services, bringing more than 20 years of financial services and payments industry experience to Euronet and then to Ria, which in April 2007 became a wholly owned subsidiary of Euronet.
Prior to joining Euronet, Larry spent 20 years with First Data Corporation, serving in senior management positions at First Data’s two largest business units, Western Union Financial Services and First Data Merchant Services. During 16 years at Western Union, Larry served as General Counsel and then Chief Operating Officer of Western Union International, leading the team responsible for building Western Union’s global money transfer network.
Larry received a JD degree from the Washington College of Law at American University and a BS degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
William E. Waugh, CAMS
Chief Compliance Officer
William E. Waugh is Chief Compliance Officer of Ria Financial Services, the money transfer division of Euronet Worldwide, Inc. He oversees the compliance and regulatory activities for the global network of companies. Bill’s primary responsibility is to safeguard the assets of Euronet from the risk of providing services to parties who may seek to use the financial system for illicit or illegal purposes. He also oversees the licensing and reporting requirements for regulated jurisdictions.
Bill has more than 13 years of experience in compliance and regulatory affairs with Ria and Associated Foreign Exchange (AFEX) where he started in 1999. Prior to his current appointment, Bill served as VP of Regulatory Affairs. Prior to joining AFEX, Bill served for more than nine years in key positions for the Boeing (fka McDonnell Douglas). Prior to that, he worked in various Account positions with Continental Airlines, Wells Fargo and Deloitte.
Bill has over 13 years of experience in compliance and regulatory affairs with Ria and Associated Foreign Exchange (AFEX). He started with AFEX in 1999 and AFEX subsequently merged with Ria in 2005. Prior to his current appointment, Bill served as Vice President of Regulatory Affairs with responsibility for regulatory, tax, insurance and risk management. Prior to joining Ria, Bill served for over 9 years in key management positions for the Boeing company (fka McDonnell Douglas). Bill also has professional experience as an Accountant with Continental Airlines, as a Corporate Banking Specialist with Wells Fargo, and as an Accountant with Deloitte & Touche.
